Summer is finally here and you’re ready to find fresh produce in the Gallatin Valley. So where might you go? Whether you’re wanting to dine out or buy some groceries to make a meal at home, Bozeman has plenty of options! Here are the top five places to find locally and sustainably grown produce and food in Bozeman.
Bogert Farmer’s Market
The Bogert Market is a lively place to gather during the week to get your groceries. There is live music, food trucks, and local farmers and ranchers from the Gallatin Valley. This market will start June 18th and run until September 24, 2019. It is every Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm and is located at Lindley Park, Bozeman, MT. Attending this market is a great way to support locals and buy nutritious, healthy food for your home!
The Community Food Co-op
Bozeman hosts two locations for their organic and local grocery stores. Both on main street, the Co-op has a huge selection of fresh options. They have options for any type of diet; vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free are very popular here! The Co-op Downtown is a smaller store and a great place to grab a healthy lunch or breakfast while Co-op West Main may be a better option if you’re looking to do your weekly grocery shopping. A lifetime membership for the Co-op (although you don’t have to be a member to shop here) costs just $30 and comes with great discounts, raffle opportunities, and more!
Co-op West Main: Open Monday-Saturday, 7:30 am-9 pm and Sunday from 8 am – 9 pm. They are located at 908 W Main St, Bozeman, MT 59715.
Co-op Downtown: Open Monday-Friday, 8 am – 9 pm, Saturday from 8:30 am – 8 pm and Sunday from 9 am – 7 pm. They are located at 44 E Main St, Bozeman, MT 59715.
Made-from scratch baked goods, soups, salads, and entrees are made fresh each day. Their menu includes gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. They make an effort to ensure that their ingredients are locally sourced and sustainably grown.
They are located at 290 W Kagy Blvd Ste A, Bozeman, MT 59715. They are open 6:30 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday and 7 am – 3 pm Saturday & Sunday, brunch til 2 pm.
Sola Cafe also has a location in Jabs Hall at MSU, which is perfect for students wanting to eat local, delicious, and nutritious food!
Little Star Diner
Little Star Diner is a family owned operation. While one owner runs the kitchen, the other grows all the produce for the restaurant. The bread is made from Montana sourced ingredients and the meat comes from small family ranches in and around Gallatin Valley. The menu changes based on what is available seasonally. This little diner is a must try for anyone wanting to support small farmers and local produce.
The Little Star Diner is located at 548 E Babcock Street, Bozeman MT 59715. They are open Wednesday – Sunday 8am – 2pm and Thursday – Sunday 5pm – close.
Montana Ale Works
Montana Ale Works is a lot more than a burger and beer restaurant. They have delicious menu options like the Montana Grain Bowl or the Pad Thai available for those who may be vegetarian. They also have a large selection of steaks, burgers, chicken, and other meats that are locally sourced. Not only that, but their drink menu is huge and has a special Made in Montana section, so Ale Works may be the perfect place for a night out!
They are located at 611 E Main St, Bozeman, MT 59715. They are open every day starting at 4 pm until 9 or 10.
